Everett native Nerlens Noel, one of the nation?s top recruits in the class of 2012, is the subject of an expanding NCAA investigation, writes SI?s Pete Thamel.
Thamel reports that? two NCAA enforcement officials traveled to Tilton, Noel?s New Hampshire prep school, for a three-hour meeting with school officials. Citing a person with knowledge of the NCAA inquiry, Thamel writes the meetings focused on the people surrounding Noel?s recruitment and how Noel paid for his unofficial visits.
Noel is set to begin his freshman year at the University of Kentucky. His unofficial visits included trips to Louisville, Kentucky and multiple trips to Syracuse. Schools are not allowed to pay for unofficial visits.
