COQUITLAM, BC - While the Heat are not eliminated from the playoffs as of yet, the battle for a playoff spot has gotten even more difficult after Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Douglas College Royals.

The Royals took an early 1-0 lead on UBC Okanagan and spent the first half maintaining it, but early in the second half the Heat had a chance to even things up when they were awarded a penalty kick. Second year defender Dylan Abbott (Salmon Arm, BC) took the shot but was unable to score for the Heat. It was all Royals from there, adding four more goals to their tally in the second half.

"The guys worked hard and stayed positive," noted head coach Dante Zanatta. "We saw what we need to play like to get to the next level."

The Heat return home to Kelowna for the last two weeks of regular season play. There are two games this upcoming weekend, Oct 13-14 and then the final two matches the following weekend, Oct 20-21. The Heat will host Langara College Saturday, Oct 13 (3 p.m.) and then Quest University Sunday, Oct 14 (2 p.m.). All games to be played at the Nonis Sports Field, on UBC?s Okanagan campus.
