Mmm, the Tropical Lava Flow: a Hawaiian cocktail that?s pretty to look at and delicious to drink!

The tropical lava flow gets its name from its color ? yup, it?s got red in it from strawberries ? as well as the way it looks in the glass. A skilled bartender will pour the ingredients into a chilled glass in such a way that the red parts look like they?re flowing down the insides of the glass. Pretty cool!

But don?t worry if you?re not an expert bartender. This drink is still easy to make and very yummy ? well worth your effort!

Tropical Lava Flow Recipe

You need:

• 1 oz. Light Rum

• 1 oz. Coconut Rum

• 2 oz. Strawberries

• 1 Banana

• 2 oz. Pineapple Juice

• 2 oz. Cream of Coconut

• Ice

To make your tropical lava flow, blend both kinds of rum together with the strawberries. Then, take the mixture and gently pour it into hurricane glasses, making sure it coats the insides of the glasses as much as possible (don?t make yourself crazy though; a lot of the mixture will still end up in the bottom of the glass, which is what it?s supposed to do).

Next, blend the bananas, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut together with the ice. Use just enough ice so the mixture is slightly thick. Then, pour the banana mixture into the hurricane glasses, trying your best to avoid the sides (don?t worry if you don?t ? it?s going to taste amazing no matter what!). As you pour, the strawberry mixture will sort of float up in the glass and look very cool, like lava!
