Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are officially man and wife. The couple married on Saturday in Austin, Texas, in an intimate gathering of family and friends.
A rep for Alves, now McConaughey, confirmed their nuptials to People.com, adding that she would take on her famous hubby's last name. According to the magazine, the couple kept the ceremony's details as secret as possible right up until they wed on Saturday evening. Mrs. McConaughey added that her groom is "the love of my life."
The formal ceremony took place after a day spent barefoot hanging out on their property, according to the site. McConaughey changed into a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo for the ceremony, while his model/designer bride sported a custom-made gown by a Brazilian designer. "Matthew looked so handsome, like an Old Hollywood movie star," a guest shared. "And Camila was just glowing and beautiful!"
Another guest tells Usmagazine.com that "there were no groomsmen or bridesmaids. And there were two preachers, [a pastor of a local church] and a monk. They switched off saying remarks. The crowd erupted and there were many tears all around [after they finished their vows]. There was a lot of clapping and everyone was happy [after they kissed]."
The site adds that among the famous guests were actor Woody Harrelson and filmmaker Richard Linklater.
Their wedding had been rumored since Friday. The couple, who got engaged last Christmas, began dating in 2006 and have two kids together, 3-year-old son Levi and 2-year-old daughter Vida. The honeymoon won't last too long for the newlyweds. McConaughey will soon have to get back to work to promote his starring role in the highly anticipated Steven Soderberg-directed stripper flick, "Magic Mike," which co-stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer.
